This is the one I want as a tattoo, but planning a biomech background rather than board it will be on torn flesh, might do blood mixed with oil & a little mechanical arm coming out with the oil can, not sure yet. Want to Giger it up a bit but keep the essential design as foreground, the other will be the canvas in background on which it will be nailed to, my skin. Do you do customizing for stuff like this privately? Thanks!
reminds me of a trapped bird. the nailed wings and blood have so much character and horrified features. (the look you were going for i take it i love the fact that the lighting is right above the heart, as if the heart/bird is prisoner at a love hating camp and tortured. (more on that later) i love the wings, the plucked and yet still hanging in there is what i really feel when i look at them. the heart is so smooth verses the thicker texture of the background, making the heart not only the main subject because of the fact that it is the center of the picture, or that it''s the brightest color. great work with that note. again i like the coloration choices that you have picked. the browns a natural color that lightens to the rusty gray to even lighter white purple above.
going back to the heart...the nails' angles are random and i feel the person that nailed the heart hammered away with carelessness, except for the straight and true nails that have pinned the wings down. i think the person wanted to make the heart suffered and did so by making sure it could not move it's wings but could move most of it's heart shaped body, there for tearing at the wing's joints. the few nails in the body are for additional blood flow. the blood splatters, the way they drip make me think that the heart has been whipped, both in the past (the presented wounds that have been sown) and the present. this piece has so pain, emotional connection (pity on my part), a fresh look on a well loved heart with wings. (i love it)
