After war we forget we ever were humans. All emotions in our soul disappear and we become hollow corpses, who walk among the living. Even if our enemies won't shoot us, we are dead inside, since we shot those, who dragged our humanity with them to a better place.........
Yeah, the men who fight in wars are really just blank, mindless dolls with no personal reasons for their involvement or souls whatsoever, RIIIIGHT? So hey, lets just call the people who defend our way of life "heroes" in the most sarcastic way possible because that's totally not insulting their sacrifices or anything >.>
War is like a tournament. You join a side and you try to beat the other team to get the shiny reward. As you fight against the other team, you slowly realize it is hopeless, but by then, it is already too late.
my mother recently had gone to nurse in the Montreal Veterans' Hospital. this building holds the remains of men who fought for the light where the rest of the world would run from the darkness that ruled there. I have witnessed these men live their lives simply waiting for death in hopes of receiving some form of redemption or forgiveness once they find their way out of this world. these heroes who have fought for what was right, who went into battle expecting to die, only to be given a second life that of which they were too mentally broken to use... in the future I will enlist in light infantry, and I pray that I either never have to use my rifle, or am put out of my misery before the memories that I collect rot me from the inside out...
Sad words, nothing but the truth. I hope nobody uses his rifle on you too and, with a lot of lucky, more ppl come to think and realize things like you did. Isn't it beautiful how art can make you get into them and reflect? Cheers for you and your mother
War... It is something I wouldn't wish for anyone, not after seeing it myself. I only worked as peacekeeper, away from frontlines, helping civilians and working at the military hospital. But even that was painful enough. 6 months of service in Afghanistan were hell on earth.
I'm going to be completely honest, I'm not one of those "deep" thinker types that's morally against what he think's everyone else is supports. Why? Because I don't need to do that to make myself superior to everyone else.
No, I was trying to imply that people who (simply for the sake of insecurity, or some misguided phobia of the government) strongly advocate anti-war sentiments without basis for, or any real idea why they do so, aggravate me. I'm not saying I'm better than anybody or that I'm for or against war in general. I've lost several relatives to the wars going on in the middle east, and I can see why people with similar experiences might have a distaste for armed conflict, but people who openly express an opinion on such a politically and socially charged issue, should have a good reason for doing so. That a good enough answer?
As soldiers and militaries change, so does war. War used to be about good guys killing bad guys in the name of great justice. But ever since the cold war, war started to be mixed up with politics- filled with politican bullshit, conspiracies, lies and unnecessary military interventions of uninvolved countries. Those soldiers that deserved to be heroes or at least a decent military burial become forgotten and unsung in the history of mankind. Now, war is becoming mixed with religion and not only politican bullshit remains, but now racism, discrimination and false accusations joins in and as long as this continues, war will become even uglier and more and more heroes become unsung in the songs of history.
End this bullshits now. Whether you are american politicans or religious terrorists, end this now. What we now call 'war' isnt war already. 'War' is about fighting for freedom and defeating evil for the common good, not about killings of practioners of another belief or those that support a different ideology.
the nation pays, but the rulers get to sit on their big piles of money, for the rulers don't pay the troops any more, the state does. true the arms dealers get money, but the ones pushing the war are usually companies that want access to another nation's resources. they pay the leaders, and that is why the leaders make money from the war.
